Each child has promise, potential, and purpose
Community Christian School high school students follow a college preparatory plan of coursework and participate in a variety of activities to develop each student spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. The rigorous coursework goes above the state-graduation requirements of 23 credits with CCS graduates earning 28 credits during their four years of high school. Honor students enjoy the opportunity to compete and participate in programs that encourage academic achievement, leadership, and community service. Community Christian School nominates students to participate in the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program, STAR Student Program, and Youth Leadership Henry.
Each year students have the opportunity to take a variety of overnight trips. Spiritual retreats are offered in conjunction with Community Bible Church’s Aftershock Youth Ministry, and educational trips to New York City and Washington DC supplement the core curriculum. Mission trips to the Caribbean, Europe, and Central America are offered in order to serve others while spreading the knowledge of Christ.
Our primary objective is to raise a generation that will shape the world according to Christian principles; therefore high school students at Community Christian School follow a college preparatory plan of coursework and participate in a variety of activities to develop each student spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. Our rigorous academic offerings move students to intellectual independence and prepare them for success at the postsecondary institution of their choosing. While core classes comprise the staple of our academic tracks, students pick from a variety of electives. The academic curriculum is also supplemented by competitions in the areas of essay & poetry writing, scientific applications to bridge building, All-State Band, and regional art competitions. Honor students enjoy the opportunity to take both honors, Advanced Placement and duel enrollment courses on campus. Community Christian School nominates students to participate in the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program, STAR Student Program, and Youth Leadership Henry.
Academic excellence is not our only commitment: Community Christian sponsors a wide array of spiritual and social events. Chapel services are led by the student praise band, and advisor groups give students and teachers the opportunity to build relationships through small group Bible study. Our student government and administration have hosted social activities which provide a much-needed balance to academic challenges and teach the social graces that a classroom setting cannot endow. Each year students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of overnight trips. Spiritual retreats are offered in conjunction with Community Bible Church’s Aftershock Youth Ministry each summer and winter. Educational trips to Europe and Washington DC have supplemented the core curriculum. Mission trips to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America have given students an opportunity to serve others while spreading the knowledge of Christ.
