Annual Fund Letter

Families and Friends of Community Christian School,

The Lord has truly been great to us at Community Christian School.  We’re in our seventeenth year and He blesses us every day!  Our mission is to introduce students to Christ and develop Christian character through spiritually dynamic and academically challenging programs, preparing them to go out to be Godly leaders who will influence their world for Christ.

This past year, we saw a number of students accept Christ as savior and grow in fellowship with the Lord.  CCS emphasizes a Christ-centered education through Biblical integration in our classes, the study of God’s Word, service to others, prayer and worship, and mentoring students to live for Christ. Our students support and volunteer for missions, and learn about giving back to those in need through community service.

We continue to strengthen our college-preparatory curriculum at CCS.  Our Class of 2013 earned more than $1 million in college scholarships, with 80% qualifying for the Hope Scholarship. We currently have 64 high school students enrolled in our Dual Enrollment College Program and in our Advanced Placement (AP) program, earning high school and college credits simultaneously while studying at CCS.  We’ve increased our student academic competitions and seen outstanding results in mathematics, reading and standardized assessments.  Our elementary school gifted program has expanded and is challenging our elementary students to excel.  Thank you to PTO for purchasing Brain Pop, a supplemental, age-appropriate curriculum-based program in all subject areas for our elementary students. The Early Education department purchased Listening Centers and a books on CD library to enhance classroom learning.

We continue to move forward with many school-wide improvements in technology through implementation of a new server, upgrades to our campus-wide wireless system, and the establishment of a Microsoft I.T. Academy at CCS.  This helps equip our students with up-to-date marketable technology skills, giving them a competitive edge in the marketplace.
Our athletic program is flourishing, with the addition of new sports such as varsity girls basketball, softball and boys tennis, giving CCS 38 athletic teams this year.  We continue expanding our athletic facilities as work on our athletics fields has begun.  CCS continues to upgrade school facilities by retiling more hallways and classrooms.  We purchased Cafeteria tables for our Elementary and MS/HS students, and added 3 school busses for field trips and athletics.  We created a Fun & Fitness Center for our EE students.  Many of these additions and improvements were made possible through previous gifts and donations from Community’s families and friends.

I want to thank each of our donors for investing in the lives of our students.  In order for CCS to continue upgrading facilities and impacting students, I am asking for your assistance.  We need your help as we continue to grow our educational programs, as we expand our extra-curricular activities, and as we continue ongoing faculty in-service and training.

I am asking for your help as we continue moving forward.  Please prayerfully contemplate our needs and what the Lord has placed on your heart.  We ask everyone to participate through prayers, volunteering and contributions.  All contributions made though our Annual Fund are tax deductible and will be used to further the educational experiences of our students.  Thank you in advance for your consideration as we look to the Lord for the training of tomorrow’s leaders.
God bless you,

Fred Banke
